The General Meeting, also known as the Shareholders’ Meeting, is the IDF’s highest level of representation and most important assembly. It is held annually as well as in special circumstances when the Presidium, also commonly known as the Steering Committee, deems it necessary. The General Meeting is comprised of the member Organisations’ Presidents or their representatives delegated in writing.

The General Meeting has the following responsibilities:
•    To approve the four-year plan;
•    To appoint the Officers for the new year;
•    To approve the closing financial statement and the proposed financial statement for the new fiscal year;
•    To deliberate on all other subjects pertaining to the management of the Federation, in accordance with the IDF Statute, or which are submitted to examination by the Presidium.

IDF GENERAL MEETNG 2011

10-11-12th December 2010 Bologna, Italy

Bologna, Italy, hosted the General Meeting 2011 from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th December 2010. Once again Presidents and representatives of the Worldwide National Dance Sport Organisations gathered together to discuss the most vital issues concerning the future development of the International Dance Federation.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The event took place in the Calzavecchio Hotel in Casalecchio di Reno, on the outskirts of Bologna. It was preceded by professional development sessions which saw successful candidates awarded IDF Official Adjudicator status. Alongside these examinations the IDF ran a workshop for the current IDF Adjudicators that allowed them to enhance their skills whilst refreshing their knowledge of the rules.
